Interview with Monday Positivitea

About a year ago I was interviewed by my friend Parul on her podcast and YouTube channel Monday Posivitea. It was a wonderful chance to reflect on how being highly sensitive has shaped my creative process.

In the interview, I shared some of the routines and tools that help me channel my creativity. At the start of the week, I sit down and map out what I want to accomplish with a weekly sprint plan. For me it’s a key practice for staying focused when its so easy to get distracted. Meditation is another important habit for me. I take ten minutes each morning to quiet my mind, which helps me manage emotions and stay centered. Cutting back on social media has been very impactful too. I think in today’s world it is the biggest source of distraction, and avoiding it really frees up mental space for creativity.

We also discussed some of the tools I use in my work, like Procreate on the iPad, which is my go-to for sketching quick ideas, and SketchUp for 3D modeling and printing. We also covered using ChatGPT as a way to critique my own ideas. It’s like having an impartial sounding board that points out missing elements and examples that would make my writing a bit better.

If any of these topics interest you I think you will enjoy the interview.
