Floating Worlds in a Test Tube

I was inspired by Dutch artist Rosa de Jong and her floating worlds, so I gave it a try. I decided to make an obelisk with a black cat on it. I made as a gift for a friend.

The obelisk is made from cardboard and cardstock. I added bits of Woodland Scenics green foam and a bit of coconut fiber on the bottom. I painted it grey and brushed brown pastel dust on it. I’m not sure what it represents, but it was a fun diversion for an evening. I’m sure there will be more floating worlds in my future.
