Embrace Your Inner Wiring

Embrace your inner wiring. That was the catchphrase from Emilie Wapnick’s TED talk, and it stuck with me. It’s not about what you do. It’s about how you do it. Your inner wiring is the invisible circuitry that shapes how you operate in the world.

This isn’t a label or a limit. It’s an invitation.

For multipotentialites like me, hearing this was a relief. A deep exhale. Embracing my wiring meant letting go of the pressure to do things the way others do, like to follow a single path, to specialize, to be consistent in the way the world expects. Instead, I started paying attention to how I naturally move through life. What energizes me. What patterns keep showing up.

And something shifted. I stopped resisting myself. I stopped trying to copy successful people’s methods and instead I started adapting what worked to fit me. That change made everything easier. More joyful even.

My inner critic doesn’t get much airtime anymore, at least when it comes to my multipotentiality. When I fall in love with a new idea or hobby, I give myself permission to go all in. I trust that I’ll learn something valuable, even if I don’t see the point right away.

So embrace your wiring. Don’t let the world tell you how you should be. You’re not broken. You’re built differently. And that’s your magic.
