A bit on Mind Mapping
Do you use mind mapping? I love it, especially for getting past creative blocks.
I keep it simple. I grab a pen and paper – that’s all I need. No fancy apps or color-coding systems. Just pure, unfiltered thinking on paper. When thoughts come, I put them down immediately. No editing, no second-guessing. Even the weird ideas get space on the page. Especially the weird ideas. They are the ones that create unexpected connections that often lead to my biggest breakthroughs.
Mind mapping has become my go-to tool when I’m stuck. When creativity feels blocked or ideas aren’t flowing, I start mapping. I let my thoughts wander and branch out naturally. There’s something liberating about seeing your mind unfold on paper. I could tell you more about my process – in fact, I did a whole episode about it on my Creative Shoofly podcast: https://creativeshoofly.com/e/mind-maps-are-liberating/. But the best way to understand is to try it yourself. Just start with a blank page and let your thoughts flow.
