Cabin Fever

January hits, and I start thinking about fishing. Happens every year.

Sure, there’s winter fishing in the Bay Area. Stocked trout are a thing. But I’m a spring-and-summer kind of angler. It’s been months since I cast a line.

Most of my fishing is at Crissy Field. Thousands of casts for halibut. Sometimes it’s bass on a boat. Sometimes poke-poling rocks for monkeyface eels.

But mild weather like this? It’s dangerous. Gets me scheming to escape the house.

I’ve convinced myself. Enough blogging. Time to hit the garage and prep the gear.
