Why Do iPhones Never Work Right in Dreams?
Do you ever try to use your iPhone in a dream? Ever notice how it never works? No internet. No signal. Just a useless glass and aluminum rectangle mocking you.
This happens to me all the time. I’ll be out somewhere, trying to Google something, and my phone is laggy or freezes up. Totally unhelpful. So frustrating!
Last night’s dream took this to a whole new level.
I was at college (as a 64 year old) taking a class on animation. Cool, right? After class, I went back to my dorm to swap a hoodie for a blazer. Fancy dinner plans with classmates.
I had a little time to kill, so I opened the Waymo app. For no good reason, I decided to see how long it would take a car to get to my actual home. Just curiosity. I wasn’t even there.
Well, it turns out dream Waymo is way more exciting than real Waymo. The car was zipping through San Francisco at 85 MPH! On the map. I panicked and tried to cancel the trip. Instead, I somehow requested a tire change and summoned a AAA tow truck. What?!
And right when I was about to throw my dream iPhone out the dream window, there was a knock at the door. My classmate telling me to hurry up. Stress level: 1,000.
Thankfully, I woke up before things got worse. At least dream credit card charges aren’t real. Small mercies.
