From Beach to Model Railroad

During the spring and summer I fish for halibut at Crissy Field beach at least once a week. Over the years I’ve caught some nice fish there up to 12 pounds. But most days I don’t even get a bite. That’s OK. It’s a great place to be outdoors in nature.

One thing I’ve noticed is the winter rains bring a lot of debris down from the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. Among volumes of branches and drift wood are bits of plastic. In this video, you can see how I transformed some of it into a scrap metal load for a gondola on my model railroad.
